Over the past 24 years MCS have developed numerous innovative systems and procedures designed to enhance safety and reduce worker fatigue. We have managed to achieved these goals while improving productivity & profitability at the same time. Our systems are utilized by major mining and Industrial companies and Government Authorities throughout Australia. Our years of experience and adherence to all safety codes and regulations ensures we remain at the forefront of this industry.

"THE SLEEPING GIANT" Australia, along with many countries worldwide is literally sitting on a sleeping giant that slowly but surely grows larger day by day, major problems are increasingly being found within systems where unprotected concrete components have been exposed to continuous gas attack. Left unchecked this corrosion can lead to eventual system failure, interruption of essential services and contamination of the environment.

Our refurbishment systems equate to less than 20% of the cost of replacement and carry a minimum 50 year guarantee

A series of units to suit various pipe diameters have been designed and manufactured in the R&D division at MCS's Jandakot factory, the company has since been granted an "Innovation Patent" for its technologies.

The system was developed due to government authorities now requiring the plastic lining all mains sewerage pipelines and access chamber systems to protect these assets from gas attack and the increasing demand for this type of pipe joint welding in large diameter mains.

The extruder welders required to perform this work weigh between 8 and 10kg and require a large amount of energy and strength to continuously weld vertical joints around the whole circumference of large diameter pipes. These machines support the entire weight of the welder allowing the operator to concentrate solely on controlling its speed and direction supply of weld rod during the operation.

FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION OF PLASTIC LINED STRUCTURES

FABRICATION & INSTALLATION

MCS were one of the first companies to become involved with onsite fabrication and installation of PVC/ HDPE components during the construction of large infrastructure projects such as sewerage treatment works and desalination plants.

This work requires highly skilled tradesmen who are required to work in confined spaces and difficult conditions where safety procedures are a priority at all times. Again, MCS has developed several new innovative systems to improve working conditions and safety, one of these is our series of patented modular platform scaffolding systems.

PLATFORM SCAFFOLDING & BRACING SYSTEMS

PLATFORM SCAFFOLDING & BRACING SYSTEMS

MCS have developed and patented specialised internal scaffolding and bracing systems specifically designed for use in sewer access chambers, Sewer Pump Stations and other structures where there is limited access and a requirement for confined space safety procedures to be in place and adhered to at all times (Patented)

CCTV

MCS was one of the first company's in WA to introduce a remote controlled closed circuit TV system for inspecting pipe-work Our original unit was a "Rico" system (that had only 50 meters of cable, poor lighting and no pan tilt head), a lot has changed over the past 25 years and the latest systems are like Rolls Royce's in comparison and include sophisticated computerised systems for recording and reporting, along with longer cables. improved lighting, pan& tilt camera heads etc.

These systems are installed in modern air-conditioned vehicles that allow the operator (and if required, the client) to view surveys in a comfortable environment and DVD's and hard copy reports of each survey are provided. On screen text display provides full survey details and an accurate counter indicates the distance travelled within the pipe. Our various systems have ranges of up to 250 metres in any direction from the start point and are capable of inspecting pipes from 65mm up to 2,000mm in diameter. If required, a "Sonde Transmitter" can be fitted to accurately pinpoint the location of the tractor (and the depth of the pipe) at all times.

MCS have established "Proffered Contractor" status with many major facilities managers and corporations around Australia
such as:

                          • The Water Corporation of WA,
                          • Western Power,
                          • Rio Tinto,
                          • Woodside,
                          • McMahon,
                          • Holcim,
                          • Power & Water (NT)
                          • WDS (Qld)
                          • and many others

Pressure Jet Cleaning

Pressure Jet Cleaning

As was the case with our CCTV experiences, MCS was again, one of the first company's in WA to introduce Pressure Jet Cleaning to the state. Our original unit was a trailer mounted "Rogue" system (that had only 100 meters of (3/4 inch) hose, a small Myers pump driven by an air-cooled Volkswagen petrol motor and a 500liter water tank. Again, a lot has changed over the past 25 years and the latest truck mounted units are (again) like Rolls Royce's in comparison, they include improvements such as: Remote Pendant Control, 3,000 litre water tanks, 250 meters of (1) inch hose, (3) stage pumps with Stainless Steel heads, powerful air condition trucks with direct drive operating the high pressure water pumps, built in foaming units that utilize the pressure jetting hoses to deliver the foam solution into the pipes for root inhibiting treatment. all this, along with a host of other improvements including improved safety systems.

CHEMICAL CONTROL OF TREE ROOTS

"Root-foam" is a combination of approved herbicides that are pumped into pipes as a foam solution to eliminate existing roots in order to prevent further structural damage to the pipe-work. The treatment only affects roots within a close proximity to the pipe and will not cause damage to the tree itself .

Vacuum Educting systems

Vacuum Educting systems

MCS utilize a number of professional Vacuum truck companies throughout Australia to provide us with their services when required.

MCS also has its own qualified operators and access to Vacuum Trucks through dry hire companies that we utilize for any educting work in the metro area.

CONFINED SPACE & RESCUE

Confined Space & Rescue

All MCS personnel are fully trained and accredited in confined space entry & rescue procedures and (as required by law) attend refresher courses (12) months.

To the company's credit there has never been a reportable incident occur over the (24) years the company has been in business.

MCS has developed several improvements to existing confined space systems such as platform ladders, portable "gated" barriers and internal scaffolding systems with mesh floors (for ventilation and light) and trapdoor access between all levels to allow entry, exit and rescue (if required)

AQUACULTURE

Patented Aquaculture technologies

Over the past (10) years MCS aside from its core operations has developed a substantial patent portfolio of innovative solutions for improving the sustainability and profitability of intensive aquaculture production. These systems, developed and rigorously tested over the past 10 years, are now commercially ready and a unique investment opportunity currently exists to partner with MCS to implement these solutions in a commercial-scale, environmentally sustainable barramundi farm constructed within a proposed food production hub in the Shire of Wagin, 230 km south-east of Perth.

Funding for this hub is being sought by a consortium of partners, including MCS, from the Federal Government’s Regional Development Australia (RDA) Fund. The Wheat belt RDA recently ranked this proposed project as a high priority for the region. Major consortium partner, Morton’s Seed and Grain are committing $2.25M to the project for the installation of a co-generation plant for the production of ‘green’ electricity and steam from the burning of their waste oat husks.

The tariff for this green electricity and steam for co-located businesses within the hub will be significantly cheaper than commercial tariffs. Consortium partner, The Shire of Wagin, is contributing to the hub via the installation of a desalination plant to produce 300,000 litres of fresh water per day from their existing saline groundwater bores.

The saline side-stream from this desalination plant is ideal for farming ‘seawater’ barramundi.MCS is proposing to build a $3.5M barramundi farm within the food production hub, capable of initially producing 125 tonnes of fish per year (Figure 2). Morton’s Seed and Grain have committed to providing free green electricity, steam and lease-hold land to this 125 tpa fish farm in return for an equity share. This contribution will result in a very significant saving in the production cost of the farmed fish.

This highly profitable barramundi farm will be a show-case for sustainable fish-farming practices and sufficient groundwater resources exist within the Wagin Shire to rapidly increase the size of this farm to ca. 1,000 tonnes per annum. Expressions of interest are being sought from interested parties to invest ca. $1M in return for a significant shareholding in this unique farm.
