McRobert Contracting Services is your first choice for
pipe technology and related services around Australia. We can provide
your construction project with the best solution based on our full
range of pipe applications.
We are a confined space specialist and conform
to all government and statutory requirements for working in confined
spaces.
Corrosion and gas attack to sewerage access chambers is a huge problem facing municipal councils around the world. Over time, gas buildup inside the system corrodes the chamber walls, eventually leading to total system failure. Conventional treatment methods were costly and often required the interruption of essential services while chamber repairs were being made. McRobert Contracting Services recognised the need for an effective solution and developed processes and methodologies resulting in the McRobert Access Chamber Relining System.
The MCS Access Chamber Relining System provides a cost effective and environmentally sound method for the restoration of access chambers with no disruption to essential services. The relined chanbers are safer, stronger, environmentally inert and guaranteed for 50 years.
The MCS Access Chamber Relining System was awarded the 2009 Australian Engineering Excellence Award for a project completed in Coral Bay, Western Australia, where the access chambers had corroded to the point where water ingress was overloading the system. McRoberts successfully relined the chambers and restored the waste water system in time for the busy tourist season.
Pipeline welding
McRobert Contracting Services is a specialist
in providing welding of pipes once they have been laid. The inside
of the concrete pipes is protected with a plastic lining, which
is welded to form a secure joint between each pipe section. At regular
intervals along the pipeline, we also provide PVC fabrication for
manholes.
Our 24 years of experience, as well as adherence to all safety
codes and regulations ensures that we remain at the forefront of
this industry.
High pressure jet cleaning
Our jet-vac unit combines a high pressure and volume water jetting
system with a powerful vacuum system. The pressure is enough to
loosen the most stubborn blockages and debris without causing damage
to pipe work. The volume of water is the catalyst for cleaning as
the substantial flow flushes large amounts of debris in the quickest
possible time.
The vacuum system operates through a 150mm vacuum hose and is capable
of sucking up ‘house brick’ size material from depths
up to 30 metres. It normally carries 180 metres of flexible hose
which allows cleaning of pipe lengths some 360 metres between access
points.
The high tech system vacuums all debris and water out of the drain
and allows for filtration of the debris and dewatering on site.
The unit can then continue vacuuming until the collector tank is
full of solids, and holds approximately 12 tonnes of debris.
The vehicle is fitted with night lights and with its unique pendant
controls can be operated with one operator, with complete safety.
All of our drain cleaning equipment is proudly Australian made
and hence potential down time is minimal as spare parts and back
up service are readily available. All units carry necessary road
signage and safety cones and are equipped with rotating beacons
in accordance with safety guidelines. We have invested substantially
in research and development of specialised drain cleaning nozzles.
We have a range of sand bombs, root saws and chain flails which,
with our experience, allow us to clean more drains in less time,
giving our clients the best possible service.
Vaporooter – tree root inhibitor for sewerage lines
Vaporooter is a combination of herbicides that are placed in sewer
drains as a foam for the purpose of eliminating roots and preventing
further structural damage of the sewer pipe caused by live tree
roots. Roots are killed and potential blockages are avoided. Only
roots within the pipe and a very short distance outside the pipe
are affected. Trees and shrubs immediately above ground are not
harmed.
Mainline CCTV tractor System
Our tractor system is mounted within a van allowing the operator
and the client to view the inside of the pipes in the comfort and
safety of an office environment.
Hard copy colour photographs can be printed immediately on site
for records and reporting and a VHS/DVD of the survey is provided.
On screen text display provides full survey details and an accurate
counter indicates the distance travelled within the pipe. The tractor
can travel up to 300 metres from the start point in one continuous
run saving costly time in relocating the van.
The rotational view camera head can be mounted in front of the
tractor (for small pipes) or built up on arms to allow centralisation
of the camera in larger pipes. The tractor is used in pipes from
150mm to 1650mm in diameter.
The cable rewind reel is fully motorised to allow rapid retrieval
resulting in more metres surveyed per hour than manual methods.
A sonde transmitter can be attached allowing pinpoint location of
the tractor including the pipe depth. We often then mark on the
surface hidden junction boxes or damaged pipework for later identification
or remedial work.
Micro Camera System
For CCTV surveys or inspections in drains 100mm or smaller (household)
our small straight view colour camera is utilised. The camera is
either roped through the drain or pushed on fibreglass pushrods
and can be used in larger drains when access is limited.
The system also has an onscreen text display and distance counter.
A VHS / DVD copy is provided and an optional written conduit condition
report is available.
We use the high-tech WinCan technology. The camera unit has 150
metres of cable and with high output lighting and variable focus,
provides detailed internal images.
